What Liability Limits Should I Have On My Auto Insurance? (Chambersburg, PA)

Hi, welcome to Shoemaker’s. How can we help you today? Hey! At Shoemakers Insurance we understand insurance can be difficult. So we have made sure to have answers to many of your questions. We hope you enjoy this video.

Liability insurance is the only type of car insurance required by law and for good reason, liability coverage pays for the damage you do when you collide with another automobile, while situations will vary between people of different means. A smart way to gauge the level of liability insurance you should have on your car can be done by looking at car costs. The average cost of a new car is just under $50,000 while not all cars on the road are worth this much. It’s a good minimum for your liability coverage. But what if you’re in an accident and the other person is injured? Medical care is expensive and a car injury can easily generate more than $200,000 in costs to cover both consider keeping liability coverage around $250,000. And remember, you can always lower your premiums by raising your deductible before making a final choice on how much coverage you need. Consider speaking with an insurance professional about your optimal liability coverage.

Shoemaker Spotlight – Newville PA

Hello, everyone. Sarah here, with Shoemaker’s Insurance, and we’re at Shoemaker’s Spotlight. We are currently at our Chambersburg office, which looks a little different here. I am standing with Doug Barnes Painting. He actually removed all the old ivy that was on our building, painted the building. It’s a new, fresh color. Doing the trim, and has actually ordered a shutter. So we’ve been working closely with him here at the office, and so now, I just want to cast a little bit of spotlight on his business.
So Doug is a local painter in the area. Doug, how long have you been in business?

Doug Barnes Pretty much full time since 2004.

Sarah
Okay, all right, and what types of services do you offer?

The first thing you do need to do, and you can start this about three months before your 65th birthday, is contact the Social Security Office, have them get your Medicare Part A and Part B active for you. Then give us a call. We will go over all the different plans for you. See what works best for your situation. As far as your health insurance, whether that would be a Medicare Supplement Plan or a Medicare Advantage Plan. We look at all of your information and see what is best for you.

Will Homeowners Insurance Pay For Tree Removal? – Chambersburg, PA

Hey everyone. Nathan, at Shoemaker’s Insurance, reaching out to you today to answer another quick question for you. The question that we are going to answer today is, if a tree falls, does my homeowner’s policy cover it? The quick, easy answer that every insurance agent likes to use is, it depends. I’m going to go into a little bit more detail with you on that and explain why it depends and how it depends.
If a tree falls on your property, it is not necessarily covered, but there are some situations in which it can be covered. Some of those situations is if the tree falls onto a structure, then we are going to help make sure that we get that tree off of your structure as quickly as possible to help prevent any further damages from occurring. We also would cover some ornamental trees that you have planted around your house on certain homeowner policies, up to just a small amount. It’s normally right around $250, approximately that we would cover trees for. Now, that is only for the ornamental trees, we’re not going to cover trees that are in a fence row or out in the middle of your woods, falling down. That is not what your homeowner’s policy is meant for. Homeowner’s insurance is not a maintenance policy. It is used to protect you from sudden losses that can create some issues for your property.
So again, that’s just a quick paraphrase version. We’d love to talk to you more about the way that trees get covered under homeowners policies. So feel free to reach out to us and we look forward to talking with you. Please make sure that you call us and have all these fun discussions with us. Have a great day. Take care.
